Star Wars: Dirty Work

New Job, New Allies, New Challenges
The Red Mistress hires on some new muscle, just in time for a new job!

While relaxing on Tur Station, above the planet Mavva, the heroes decided to stay for the night. While they left to find places to settle down for the night, Al noticed a strange and suspect sight: a shaved Wookie by the name of Actubac, being pursued by Trandoshan hunters, hoping to take the Wookie’s life for the Scorekeeper’s favor. Al managed to deter the hunters outside of the apartment that Actubac rented, with the help of local security. The hunters were subdued and Actubac and Al spent the night in an expensive suite previously rented by Al. After a long night of debauchery, th group gathered their bearings, recovered from their hangovers, and took a call from their employer, Coil, who sent the heroes to Brentaal to pick up the package for their latest delivery which would be going to Jabiim. Upon receiving the package, a large cube of durasteel on a repulsor sled, the heroes had to avoid a group of bounty hunters who recognized their faces from a local bounty board. The heroes managed to escape to hyperspace and set their ship in the direction of Jabiim.

While the heist was being carried out, Tamriel left on his own to find Rachel, a girl who he had known some time ago. To Tamriel’s surprise, she seems to have a new lover, a Wroonian man. Tamriel begs her to come travel with him, across the stars and beyond. Rachel doesn’t give too quickly, and her Wroonian boyfriend goes to call the nearest security. The hearest security happens to be Edmund, who jumps at the opportunity to get off the planet.

Huttball, Day 1
After narrowly escaping Red Optic, Coil plans to investigate them fully, while the heroes find their own jobs.

The chase on Coruscant is several Parsecs behind their ship, and the crew of the Crimson Pride catches their breath. Coil is fed up with the intrusions of Red Optic and plans to investigate their activities.

Without Coil to make get them jobs the crew has to find their own. After a bit of searching, the crew finds a number of possible leads. Finding reports of a missing Huttball team the crew decides to see if they could replace the team themselves.

When they arrive on the Smuggler’s Moon of Nar Shadda, they make their way through the back alleys to avoid the heavy traffic to the Pit. So’Lath finds an ill Evocii on the way through the dirty and neon-lit city, and cures his Reek Cough. The Evocii refugee’s nearby friend is moved enough to hand Solath a mysterious business chip that simply claimed “NEED WEAPONS? CALL THIS FREQUENCY.”

Upon reaching the back door of the Pit, the heroes are threatened by a menacing Togorian, sharpening a vibroknife. Bearing his sharp teeth, he wishes them luck and safety in the competition, and hopes he gets to be their competitor. Not taking the threat, the crew moves on.

Somehow ignoring the bodies being dragged from the Pit, the crew meets the team manager of the missing his team. He is ecstatic to see his replacements are here, and asks for a meager 40% of the winning pot, if the crew can survive the games long enough to win.

The first match begins, and the crew is confronted with an experienced team. Using twin pronged and defensive maneuvers, the crew nearly loses the game several times, but manages to overpower the Rotworms. The crew, now called the Thrashing Thrantas are the winners of the elimination round.

The next day promises even greater competition…

Separatists on Nar Shadaa
As the mysteries of the Pit deepen, the vile past begins to catch up to the members of the crew.

Upon exiting the Pit the crew is confronted by a wave of Holonet reporters. They question the heroes endlessly, asking for origins, desires involving the prize, learning the team dynamics and asking them to size up the competition. The heroes learn through their questions (and some sleuthing of their own) that Huttball players have been going missing in their beds. Tanner Vum revealed that there had been claw markers and sedatives at the bedsides.

Before the heroes can dig deeper, they realize that they have not heard from their comrade Neela. Upon trying to call her, some minor jamming is discovered, and signs that Neela was in trouble. Aloysius Xavier Capone’ and Actubac were luckily close by and found her running from Separatist battle droids.

A chase ensued, and more battle droids appeared to oppose the heroes. Neela was safely secured and the droids were routed in order to make an escape.

Actubac stayed behind to track the remaining droids to a possible droid commander, who in turn lead him further to a member of Red Optic…
